SDK Completes Expansion at Kawasaki Of Used-Plastic Gasification Facility

Tokyo—Showa Denko (SDK) has completed the expansion of a used-plastic gasification unit at its Kawasaki, Japan, ammonia plant (PCN, 23 Feb 2015, p 3). The facility processes used plastic to obtain the hydrogen necessary for the synthesis of SDK's Ecoann brand ammonia. The percentage of hydrogen from used plastic has increased to 65%.
