SES'ZZ JV Secures COG Feedstock To Increase Methanol Production

Shandong—Synthesis Energy Systems' (SES) Zao Zhuang (ZZ) joint venture has signed a 10-year off-take agreement with Shandong Shenghuo XuLong Coal Chemical Co. Ltd. for the supply of coke oven gas (COG) to increase methanol production at the joint venture plant in Zao Zhuang City, Shandong Province, China (PCN, 6 Jan 2014, p 2). The contract involves a minimum supply of 4,000 normal cubic meters (NCM) per hour of the new COG feedstock, with a normal target amount of 5,500 NCM per hour, allowing ZZ to increase methanol production capacity to about 110,000 t/y.
