Dutch Waste-to-Chems Consortium Grows; Plans Study for First European Plant

Amsterdam— AkzoNobel said the waste-to-chemicals consortium, which it joined last year to explore the use of waste streams as feedstock for chemical production, has more than doubled in size to 14 partners (PCN, 17 Nov 2014, p 2). Initially formed by AkzoNobel, Enerkem and four regional partners, the public-private partnership is studying options for building Europe's first plant, either in Rotterdam or Delfzijl, the Netherlands. Results of the study will be available later this year.
