Asahi Kasei Starts Up 2nd Line in China For Durante HDI-Based Polyisocvanate

Nantong— Asahi Kasei Chemicals has started up a second line at its site in Nantong, China, for the production of Durante hexa-methylene diisocyanate (HDI)-based polyisocyanate (PCN, 15 Apr 2013, p 4). The new 10,000-t/y HDI polyisocyanate plant, which has achieved commercial operations, brings Asahi Kasei's total capacity for HDI polyisocyanate to 30,000 t/y. The company already has a 10,000 t/y-line at Nantong, as well as a 10,000-t/y plant in Hyuga, Miyazaki, Japan.
