LG Chem Focuses Spending on R&D

Seoul—LG Chem, in order to encourage growth, plans to invest 590-billion won ($553-million) this year on research and development in its core petrochemicals, information and electronic materials, and battery businesses. The research and development spending is expected to result in sales of more than 30-trillion won by 2017, a 31% increase from 2013 sales of 450-billion won.
