Incitec Pivot Approves Expenditure For Ammonia Plant in Louisiana

Wassaman-Incitec Pivot Ltd. (IPL) has approved an $850-million capital expenditure for construction of a world-scale 800,000-t/y ammonia plant in Waggaman, La. The plant will be built within Cornerstone Chemicals Co.'s Waggaman complex and is scheduled to begin production during the third quarter of 2016. IPL noted that the plant is sold out from day one of production, with 300,000 tons going to the group's own plants in the U.S. and the balance committed to offtake agreements with Transam-monia Inc. and Cornerstone Chemicals.
