EPA Releases Comprehensive Data On 7,674 Chemicals in Commerce

Washington -The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released the 2012 Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) database containing comprehensive use and exposure information on more than 7,674 chemicals in commerce. Companies are required to provide information on chemicals in consumer products, along with reports on commercial applications and industrial uses. EPA has for the first time also required companies to substantiate confidentiality claims in order to ensure that as much information as possible is made available to the public.
