UOP Providing Crosstex with Process To Extract PC Feedstock from Shale

Plaquemine-UOP has been selected by Crosstex Processing Services, a subsidiary of Crosstex Energy, to provide technology and equipment for extracting ethane and propane from natural gas liquids (NGLs) derived from shale gas. UOP will build and install UOP Russell fractionation equipment for Crosstex in Plaquemine, La., and provide a full turn-key solution that includes on-site installation and start-up services for the equipment, as well as other related equipment and infrastructure. The UOP Russell deethanizer and depropanizer fractionators are capable of handling a 100,000-b/d mixed NGLs stream for the extraction of ethane and propane. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2014.
