Nature Works Appoints PLA Distributor; Commissioning Expansion in Thailand

Bangkok- NatureWorks has appointed PTT Polymer Marketing Co. (PTTPM), the marketing arm of PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC), as its distributor of Ingeo polylactic acid (PLA) for Thailand and Vietnam. PTTGC last year acquired a 50% interest in Nature-Works, which had a 140,000-t/y PLA facility in the U.S. and was building a 140,000-t/y PLA plant in Thailand (PCN, 4 June 2012, p 1).
