Nippon Shokubai Indonesia Launches New AA & SAP Production in Cilegon

Cilegon—Nippon Shokubai has started up its new acrylic acid (AA) plant and new superabsorbent polymers (SAP) facility in Cilegon, Indonesia (PCN, 2 May 2011, p 4). The approximately $300-million project increased the company's AA capacity by 80,000 t/y and its SAP capacity by 90,000 t/y, raising Nippon Shokubai Group's total capacities to 700,000 t/y and 560,000 t/y, respectively.
