Odfiell Contracts Chemical Carrier

Bergen-Odfjell has entered into a contract to purchase MT Bow Engineer, a 30,086-dwt chemical tanker with 28 stainless steel cargo tanks from Saito Shipping. The carrier has been on time charter for Odfjell since its delivery by Kitanihon Shipbuilding Co. of Japan in 2006. Odfjell said rather than continuing the remaining five-year charter period, it has agreed to buy the vessel from Saito.
