Williams, Shell Form Midstream JV To Serve Northeastern PC Firms

Houston-Williams Partners LP and Shell have agreed to launch a midstream joint venture to provide gas gathering and gas processing services to producers in northwest Pennsylvania and support development of the petrochemical market in the northeast U.S. The new venture, Three Rivers Midstream, will invest in both wet-gas handling infrastructure and dry-gas infrastructure serving Marcellus and Utica shale wells in the region. It plans to build a 200-million cu f/d cryogenic gas processing plant and related facilities at a yet-to-be-determined location. The facility will be designed for future expansion, with initial operations expected to begin by the second quarter of 2015.
