Bolivia's YPFB Aims to Cut Imports With Construction of Urea Facility

La Paz—Bolivia's Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) said the 12 Sept. start of construction on its urea plant in Bulo Bulo, Cochabamba province, is expected to replace costly imports of the fertilizer. Last year, YPFB awarded Toyo Engineering a contract for the $843-million, 2,100-t/d urea project, which will use 1.4-million cu m/d of natural gas and is scheduled for completion in 2015 (PCN, 8 Oct 2012, p 3).
