Praxair Signs Agreement to Buy C02 From Honeywell's Caprolactam Unit

Hopewell-Praxair has signed a 15-year agreement to purchase by-product carbon dioxide (C02) from Honejnvell Resins & Chemicals' caprolactam production in Hopewell, Va. The C02 will be purified and liquefied at a new 450-t/d plant being built by Praxair at the Hopewell site and scheduled to start up in the third quarter of 2013. Kevin Foti, vice president, East Region, for Praxair's U.S. industrial gases business, said the new "world-class" facility in Hopewell will allow Praxair to better serve customers as the company builds additional capacity to take advantage of growth opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic states.
