Shell and Cosan Launch Raizen JV To Make Ethanol from Sugar Cane

Sao Paulo－Shell and Cosan have established Raizen as a new multi-billion dollar Brazilian joint venture that will become a leading producer of ethanol made from sugar cane (PCN, 10 Jan 2011, p 4). "Raizen will produce and sell over 2-billion liters/yr of the lowest-carbon biofuel commercially available - ethanol made from Brazilian sugar cane," the two companies said in a joint release.
