DuPont Awards KBR Services Contract For Its First Cellulosic Ethanol Plant

Ames—DuPont has awarded KBR a contract for engineering and procurement services for its first cellulosic ethanol plant, which will be built in Nevada, Iowa (PCN, 11 July 2011, p 4). DuPont Industrial Biosciences is building a plant to process 1,300 t/d of corn stover and produce 27.5-million gal/yr of ethanol. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2012 and take 12 to 18 months to complete.
