Marl—Evonik Industries said it has laid the foundation stone for a new plant in Marl, Germany, to produce functionalized polybutadiene for use in the adhesive and sealants industries. Last year, the company announced plans to expand its liquid polybutadiene product range with construction of a functionalized polybutadiene plant in Marl that was expected to begin production in the fall of this year (PCN, 4 July 2012, p 3).
