MHI Building C02 Recovery Facility To Boost Qafac's Methanol Output

Doha-Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received an order from Qatar Fuel Additives Co. (Qafac) to build a large-scale carbon dioxide (C02) recovery plant, which will recover up to 500 t/d of C02 that will be used to increase Qafac's production of methanol.The plant, to be built within Qafac's methanol facility in Mesaieed, Qatar, will capture C02 from combustion exhaust gas emitted in the methanol production process. MHI expects to complete the plant in October 2014.
