Sabic & Sinopec Launching Negotiations For Methanol-to-Olefins Project in T&T

Riyadh— Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (Sabic) and China Petrochemical and Chemical Corp. (Sinopec) have agreed to begin negotiations with Trinidad and Tobago for a methanol-to-olefins project, according to industry reports. The two companies have been selected by the Trinidad and Tobago government over other international bidders for the potential $5.3-billion project. Proposed capacity was not disclosed.
