Mitsubishi & Genomatica Sign MOU To Pursue Green Chemicals in Asia

Tokyo— Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. and Genomatica have signed a broad memorandum of understanding outlining several possible areas of collaboration in Asia, including research and development of sustainable chemicals. The agreement covers studying a joint venture for the first commercial production of bio-based 1,4-butanediol (BDO) in Asia using Genomatica's direct, one-step technology and Mitsubishi's manufacturing experience and leadership in BDO applications and sales.
