BASF Selling Antwerp Fertilizer Assets, 50% Stake in PEC-Rhin to EuroChem

Ludwisshafen— BASF has signed an agreement to sell its Antwerp, Belgium, fertilizer assets and its 50% interest in the PEC-Rhine joint venture in Ottmarsheim, France, to EuroChem for about ?700-million. The Antwerp facilities produce calcium ammonium nitrate/ammonium nitrate (CAN/AN) fertilizers, Nitrophoska fertilizers and nitrophosphoric acid and include three related nitric acid plants. BASF is in the process of grouping these activities into a separate company that will be acquired by EuroChem.
