Micro hydropower system reduces energy consumption

Mining companies Anglo Platinum (Angloplat) and Gold One are taking full advantage of pump manufacturer Cemo Pumps' Crown V4 micro hydropower system to comply with the energy reduction demand placed on the South African mining industry by State-owned power utility Eskom. Cemo Pumps MD Brian Leib says that, to counteract the energy reduction demands Eskom initiated two years ago, and to ensure that production was able to continue, mining companies needed to find an economical solution to reduce their electricity consumption.
