SOUTHERN Africa-focused gold miner Gold One reported last week that its March quarterly production had exceeded expectations, increasing by 22% on the previous quarter, to 26 188 oz. The miner previously said it expected to produce 25 000 oz of gold in the three months. "Gold One has had a positive start to 2011, with the company exceeding its public production guidance for the March quarter. This has laid the foundation for a strong June quarter, as well as for the remainder of the year," said CEO Neal Froneman.
