Master removes gold liquidators, Galaxy fights to list gold, Exxaro bids for iron-ore asset

AFTER THE MASTER OF THE HIGH COURT removed Pamodzi Gold liquidators Enver Motala and Gavin Gainsford, trade union Solidarity called for Aurora Empowerment Systems to be removed as the preferred bidder of the Grootvlei and Orkney gold mines. At the time of going to press, Motala was preparing to bring an urgent application to reverse the Master's decision. Solidarity says that Aurora has until May 31 to oppose an application for outstanding salaries. Should Aurora fail to oppose the application, its removal as preferred bidder will be heard in the North Gauteng High Court on June 7. Another Parliamentary portfolio committee hearing on the Grootvlei and Orkney situation is due in Cape Town in June.
