M-doped (M = Tm~(3+), Tb~(3+), Ho~(3+), Dy~(3+), Mn~(2+)) transparent fluorophosphate glasses were prepared by a high temperature melting method. Excitation and emission spectra of the samples were investigated. Under near-ultraviolet excitation, the emission colors of the Tm~(3+)-and Mn~(2+)-doped samples are blue and red, respectively; the emission colors of the Tb~(3+)-, Ho~(3+)-, and Dy~(3+)-doped samples are green; and the emission color of Tb~(3+)/ Mn~(2+)/Tm~(3+) tridoped fluorophosphate glass is white to the naked eye. Our research will be helpful in developing luminescent materials for white light-emitting-diodes.
