Noble, Consol Abandon JV in Marcellus

Consol Energy and Noble Energy said Monday they are abandoning their joint venture to develop natural gas in the Marcellus Shale of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The JV, formed in 2011, operates 669,000 acres, with each company holding a 50% working interest. As of Oct. 1, the assets were producing about 1 Bcfe/d.
