US Oil Rig Count Rises Again

The US oil rig count rose for the second straight week, as steadily rising oil prices appears to have enticed select US operators to begin drilling again. Data from oil-field services provider Baker Hughes show that the US added three oil rigs during the week ended Jun. 10 to a total of 328. For most of 2016, the oil rig count had been in steady decline after oil prices bottomed out below $30 per barrel to start the year.
