Colorado-focused producer Extraction Oil & Gas, fresh off its initial public offering (IPO) in October, turned in a mixed third quarter that saw outsized output growth offset by rising operating costs. Denver-based Extraction, a pure-play producer in the Wattenberg field in the Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basin in northeastern Colorado, posted output of 28,948 barrels of oil equivalent per day (48% oil) during the third quarter, up 45% from the same period last year.
