Penn West Warns of Insolvency

Canadian oil and natural gas producer Penn West warned that low commodity prices could cause it to default on its substantial debt load by the end of June. The Calgary-based firm said it is in negotiations with its creditors to restructure some of the more than C$1.8 billion (US$1.4 billion) in long-term debt it held at the end of the first quarter.
