US Weekly Crude Output Falls by 29,000 b/d

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that domestic crude oil production fell by about 29,000 barrels per day to 8.716 million b/d in the week ended Jun. 10. The agency said that almost all of the weekly downturn occurred in the US lower 48, both onshore and offshore, while output in Alaska slipped by 1,000 b/d week-to-week. The EIA's weekly production numbers are generally regarded as a preliminary estimate of US crude oil output. Its monthly numbers are viewed as a more complete and accurate reading of US production volumes, although they are typically published with a delay of about two months.
