Cabot Oil & Gas saw its natural gas production hold flat during the third quarter, as new completion designs drove down production costs. The Marcellus Shale producer reported gas production of 1.57 Bcf/d during the quarter. Management added that its new well designs outperformed standard wells by 20% for the period. The company's operating expense fell from $2.24/MMcfe to $2.21/Mcfe during the July-September quarter.
