In its bid to stimulate domestic gas output and reduce reliance on imports, China is mulling an increase in financial incentives for the production of unconventional gas. The Ministry of Finance and top economic planner National Development and Reform Commission are now considering a doubling in subsidies for coalbed methane production and are likely to also extend and increase an expiring subsidy for shale gas, a well - informed government source tells International Oil Daily Wednesday.
