Exxon Mobil has denied claims by two news organizations that the giant oil company buried internal research dating back to the late 1970s which showed that burning fossil fuels causes global warming. Exxon released a statement denouncing the recent reports by InsideClimateNews and the Los Angeles Times as "inaccurate and deliberately misleading."
