Alberta's oil patch caught a bit of a break over the weekend as two oil sands operations threatened by the massive wildfireswere spared damage as the blazes moderated slightly due to cooler weather and shifting winds. Suncor Energy's base plant operations north of Fort McMurray and Nexen's Long Lake facility to the south both escaped the wildfire's path over the weekend.
