US Shale Oil Output Projected to Fall in May

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) expects oil output from the top seven US shale regions to fall by 57,000 barrels per day to 5.561 million b/d in May from 5.618 million b/d in April. The forecast comes from the EIA's latest Drilling Productivity Report , which estimates production from the major shale regions based on the number of rigs at work and the productivity of those rigs. Unlike some of the EIA's other forecasts, this one only looks two months into the future.
