Rail Hubs Planned for Permian, DJ Basins

Sand miner Hi-Crush Partners and oil transporter ARB Midstream said they have reached a joint venture agreement to build and operate connecting rail hubs in the Permian Basin of West Texas and the Denver-Julesberg (DJ) Basin in Colorado. The new rail line, which will be utilized by Union Pacific Railroad, will transport sand used in hydraulic fracturing (fracking) operations and crude oil produced in the two oil and gas basins.
