Yara, BASF Proceed With US Ammonia Plant

Yara, the Norwegian fertilizer manufacturer, and German chemicals firm BASF plan to spend $600 million to build an ammonia plant at BASF's existing complex at Freeport, Texas. Start-up for the 750,000 metric ton per year project is slated for late 2017. The companies confirmed the schedule and cost for the previously announced plant in statement released Thursday (OD May9'14).
