US oil drilling activity continued its unprecedented nosedive last week, with the number of crude rigs plunging by more than 80 for the second straight week as oil prices continue to hover around $50 per barrel. The latest data from oil-field services provider Baker Hughes showed 1,140 rigs drilling for oil and 314 rigs drilling for natural gas in the US in the week ended Feb. 6.
