Measure Proposed to Boost Carbon Capture

Two Senators unveiled a bill on Thursday to facilitate carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects by lowering borrowing costs for businesses which plan to build CCS facilities. The bill, proposed by Michael Bennet (D - Colorado) and Rob Portman (R - Ohio) would allow businesses investing in CCS projects to issue tax - exempt bonds, which would pay interest at a lower rate than taxable bonds.
