Japanese power utility Kansai Electric has signed a sales and purchase agreement with trading house Mitsui for 400,000 tons/yr of LNG, sourced from the latter's equity offtake at the 12 million tons/yr Cameron project in the US. Mitsui is entitled to 4 million tons/yr of supplies from Cameron where it has invested a 16.6% stake. Kansai said the volumes, priced at US Henry Hub-linked prices, would be supplied in the second-half of 2017 on a delivered basis. This marks the utility's second purchase of US LNG volumes, following an earlier deal to buy 800,000 tons/yr from Cove Point terminal.
