Concern has been growing in Mexico about the potential for mass layoffs at state-owned oil producer Pemex, as the company continues to work on a planned restructuring in response to low oil prices and the loss of its long-time constitutional monopoly. The standing committee of the country's Congress issued a statement on Wednesday claiming that Pemex had dismissed more than 10,000 contract workers since the beginning of this year.
