Linn Energy Lowers Capex, Production Guidance

Linn Energy has issued lower capital spending and production guidance for 2015 -- the second time it has done so this year -- as it looks to remain self-funding amid an ongoing slump in US oil and gas prices. Houston-based Linn said it now plans to spend about $520 million on its oil and natural gas operations in 2015, down 29% from the $730 million capex budget it unveiled in early January. That earlier number already represented a more than 50% reduction from the company's 2014 spending (OD Jan.5’15).
