Exxon Mobil cannot call 2013 a very good year despite profits that topped $32 billion. Profits from the company's US downstream business came in much lower than in 2012, while earnings from its international downstream business sank like a stone. The closest to good results came from the US chemicals business, where profits surpassed those of 2012. However, earnings from the international chemicals business fell sharply.
