States Ask US Court to Block Clean Power Plan

Led by West Virginia -- a major producer and consumer of coal -- 24 states sued the Obama administration on Friday in an attempt to block its plan to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide from power plants. The suit -- filed after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized its flagship Clean Power Plan -- is the opening shot in a legal process that experts say could take years and go all the way to the Supreme Court ( OD Aug.4'15 ).
