New York-based Hess offered some fairly upbeat comments about the Utica Shale play in Ohio on Wednesday, helping to offset some of the recent bearish noises coming out of the emerging resource play. But even for Hess, it hasn't been all smooth sailing. "We're very encouraged by our findings to date that show that the majority of the 43,000 core net acres we have in the JV [with Consol Energy] is located in the play's wet gas sweet spot," Chief Operating Officer Greg Hill said on Wednesday.
