Devon Says 'Five-Plus-Two' Strategy Pays Off

Devon Energy said its strategy of focusing on five core liquids plays and two up-and-comers is delivering strong growth in high-margin production of crude oil and natural gas liquids (OD Nov.21'13). The Oklahoma City-based independent said its oil production grew to 177,000 barrels per day in the fourth quarter -- a 17% increase over the same period of 2012 and above its guidance. The biggest boost came from the US, where fourth-quarter oil output grew by 32% year-onyear to nearly 86,000 b/d.
