Majors Driving 10% E&P Spending Growth in 2013

Upstream spending by large, publicly listed oil and gas companies is expected to rise by a stronger-than-expected 10% in 2013, driven by robust investment by the integrated majors, according to IHS Herold. Herold's initial expectation was for "flat to slow growth" in exploration and production (E&P) spending in 2013, but the consultancy reassessed its forecast after examining thirdquarter results for the 45 companies in its survey.
