Critics of the US Interior Department's latest draft proposal to regulate hydraulic fracturing can submit comments until mid-June, but the department's middle-ground approach looks set to survive without further substantive changes. The Interior Department's Bureau of Land Management (BLM) scrapped a previous draft proposal last year after receiving more than 170,000 public comments that criticized the effort for being unnecessary or too limited in scope (OD May7'12).
