The decade - long exit of some of the Gulf of Mexico Shelf's largest players has hit another inflection point, with regional stalwarts such as Apache, W&T Offshore and Stone Energy now joining the throng of majors and independent heavyweights that have already run for the door. None of these firms is pulling out of the shallow - water region entirely, but their intentions to massively reduce their profiles begs the question -- has the curtain call finally come for the US Gulf Shelf?
