Crude oil futures rose on Friday, supported by strong equity markets, positive economic news from China and a further decline in the value of the US dollar. The S&P 500 US stock market index closed at a new record high of 1,744 in a relief rally following the temporary debt and budget deal reached in Washington on Oct. 16. The FTSE All-World stock market index closed at 260.9, its highest level since May 2008.
